I just took a super awesome trip to Washington D.C. for the Fourth of July weekend- I stayed with my best friend Madeline. It was epic amounts of fun! Also, on my way up, I got to see Connie, Uncle Philip, Mike, Jaclyn, and Greta (who was visiting at the time). On my way home I visited at School of the Arts and got to see some of my ensemble members (Cameron, Fola, Zoey) and stopped in Arden to have dinner with Eric.

Just working, saving money, and procrastinating packing. Yeah, then packing thing is about college, but also in general. My parents are building a smaller house and want to sell the one we have. It'll all probably go down while I'm at school. But I still have to pack all my crap. Haha.

That's about it.

Senior 09

It's been a while, as usual. I get so consumed with life I forget to update.

I've heard back from all of the schools I applied to. I was accepted to UNC-Chapel Hill, UNC-G, and Catawba College. I was waitlisted for Elon University.

As of now, I've settled on going to Catawba. I've got to look at the financial package information for UNC-G before a final decision, but I really enjoyed the campus of Catawba and Salisbury itself. College, here I come!

The week before last was Spring Break. I went to Tampa, Florida, with my roomate and two other girls at my school. We went to the beach, hung out by the bay, and made a trip to Ybor. Lots of fun in the sun!

This last Friday we did our performance of "Mary's Wedding." We had been given the script back in fall, worked on lines, then came back from Chicago in February and got to work on it. It was a successful show, the ending causing sniffles in the audience. haha... Plus, there is a part where I kiss my partner, Ray, and my sister was at the show and giggled. It was adorable. My mom, sister, and grandparents came. It was nice to see them all.

This last week was kind of hard. Coming back from a relaxing spring break and being forced back into the routine of school work was difficult. Also, I had to school rejections while also finding out that my dad was losing his job. My mother has also been laid off. Crazy stuff when the economy falls apart...

Well, we are now starting on doing a performance of Shel Silverstein's "The Giving Tree." It's a movement based show in honor of the volunteers of the Special Children's School (a school for children with special needs) and we will use children from the school in the show. That goes up April 30th at 8 pm, Thursday night. Free Admission.

Our next show after that, which I am most excited about, is MACBETH! I am stage manager and totally stoked. It isn't going to be a typical version of Macbeth... Our intro is to a Rage Against the Machine song. Need I say more?
The performance weekend is May 15 and 16.

I graduate May 30th. Hooray!

That's all for now. <3

Winter Break + Acceptance in 2009

So Winter Break was nice; I was able to drive my car, sleep in my own bed, and eat at whatever time I wanted without having to make sure the caf was open. I did some catching up with my pals and had an overall good time. It was almost torture coming back to school... Some people find more freedom at school, but I find much less.

Coming back wasn't as bad as I thought it would be, but it was still a little sad. I feel more grounded in my art and purpose here now, especially with auditions for college coming up.

But some exciting news already- I've been accepted into UNC-Chapel Hill!
It's the first college I've heard from, which is encouraging because it's a prettttttty awesome school.

Other than that, we'll be going to Chicago the first week of February for Unified Auditions. Wish me luck!
